1. Initial Meeting: In-depth needs assessments including, but not limited to, discussion on lifestyle, goals and "wish lists" (both functional and aesthetic). If the client is a builder, we discuss their building processes and preferences.
2.Site visit: Firsthand look at property to discuss home orientation, zoning covenants and explore opportunities for making the most of the site for views, natural light, passive solar energy.
3. Preliminary design and client feedback: This early design phase puts our best ideas on paper. Includes ample time for revision based on client review and feedback. Materials specifications begin. The builder is typically chosen by this point—along with landscape and interior designers, as needed.
4. Construction drawings: These final, working drawings include all the details needed for the builder to bid and build the home (or remodel).
5. Plan review and bid process: Plans are reviewed by local jurisdiction as required. Builders finalize bids based on construction drawings.
